The Association
WGRA aims
As members of the Woolley Grange Residents Association, we aim to:
- Represent residents' views
- Promote a healthy and happy environment Woolley Grange residents
- Further community interests by identifying and supporting proposals that benefit Woolley Grange
- Preserve the area in which we live
- Promote other charities
- Support reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour within Ward 18, Wakefield
- Source and apply for additional funding to provide Woolley Grange residents with facilities for sport and recreation
- Produce four community newsletters each year.
We've already helped with...
- organising successful family events: quiz nights, carol singing around the Christmas Tree, Father Christmas visits, annual Easter egg hunts and Summer Jubliee events
- RMG and Envirocare service improvements, and putting continued pressure to manage open spaces effectively. As a result of our complaints of poor service, a permanent 10-foot living Christmas tree and 500 saplings were provided as a gesture of goodwill
- leaseholds. A great deal of work has been done to clarify the changes to the leasehold arrangements regarding Arundel bankruptcy, Walker Singleton appointed receivers, Eversheds Solicitors, and Hastoe.
- 106 agreement issues. Addressing outstanding planning and site issues with relation to the building work as a whole. A joint venture with rural ward and parish councils to ensure footpaths and roads are brought up to acceptable standards
- other areas, including planning application awareness, mobile library bus visits, school buses, school places, and attempts to improve parking and dog fouling issues.
