Treasury update
Cash in hand £32248.58. This includes community grow money and money now received from RMG for reapir to steps paid by WGRA. We still have the money from the lottery fund for the summer club, these are from ones that were cancelled due to the bad weather.
Actions
- LS to arrange further camps at Easter to use this money.
Christmas event
Discussed there had not been a good response to this event and very few tickets had been purchased. Agreed a further push on Facebook would take place over the weekend and then re assess if the event will go ahead.
It was discussed the feasibility of keeping the electricity spur connected going forward. At present this is only used for Christmas events and the lights on the Christmas tree for 1 month of the year. The cost of the standing charge has increased, and it needs to be assessed if keeping the spur live all year is a financially viable option. It was suggested this would be raised at RMG AGM to see if they would fund the spur.
Halloween event
The possibility of running an event to celebrate Halloween was discussed, a further discussion re this would take place in 2024.
Resident directors
It was outlined that two of the volunteers were experienced in relation to being directors. They had emailed RMG and Bovis outlining they were operating illegally in regard to not carrying out an AGM as this needs to take place within 12 months of the previous one and this had not happened.
Community grow
It was agreed this project now needs to progress, Kevin Hayes would be visiting the site to remove overhanging tress, community payback would also be attending to help clear the site and prepare it for the beds etc. A post to be put onto the Facebook page outlining the progress with the area and looking at the interest of resident in owning a raised bed.
Spruce up
WR informed the meeting had tried to make enquiries with local farmers who may be able to assist with the trimming of the hedges on the long drive down The Grange, unfortunately there has been a lack of engagement with this. The bins in the playground were discussed as they were overflowing regularly and not emptied by RMG, although this had been the agreement in the past. An extra charge would be made by RMG for the bins to be emptied therefore it was agreed they should be removed and residents children encouraged to take the litter home.
Road adoption
WR explained a meeting was arranged between Yorkshire Water, Bovis and RMG for the 27th October however this was cancelled at the last minute as Bovis were unable to attend. Enquiries are ongoing to arrange a further meeting.
